I was wondering if those of you who own a pressing machine are happy with it? I have an old Rowenta that I'm satisfied with. But, years and years ago I took a class and we used a small table top pressing machine. It was very nice. I don't think I can rationalize the space especially when my iron is fine, but was wondering what the benefits of a pressing machine are vs. a plain old iron? Faster because it irons both top and bottom at once?

I do, and yes, it is faster, also because it covers an area approx the size of 8 irons, so you get a lot done quicker. Best of all for me is that I get to sit down while I do it, and it delivers a great lot of steam when I want it too.

I don't understand how you could know all the seams are going the right way.
|
I have wondered the same thing...
But it would also be handy for pressing other things too :D |
No, I don't use it for pressing seams, just the main laundry, and all my washed fabrics. I press my seams with a travel iron next to my sewing machine.

I love my pressing machine, but I use it on regular laundry (great) and final block pressing. Seems to crisp it us nicer. The "as you go" pressing I use my rowenta :)...it's a control thing; so the seams do what I want them to.
