Tie AND Hand Quilt?

I know, I know...it's my quilt, but has anyone ever seen a quilt that is both hand quilted AND tied? I have a 10-minute block quilt that seems to be calling me to do both... Would it look silly?

I started FMQing a baby quilt and the machine kept acting up, so I put it down. Then I had to get it finished to gift the thing, and for time's sake I tied the other half of it. It looked really strange, but I suppose if you made it look deliberate, it might actually work.

I'm seeing some of this and i like it!! i can see hand-quilting and hand-tying very easily bc they're both hand-work but i'm seeing machine quilting along with hand-quilting and tying too! i like the variety and especially like the utility stitch being used w/ machine or hand-quilting. the examples i've seen were very nice and did not look odd. i'm considering doing this one my hidden wells quilt but its going to be pretty big so i might not want to commit to even the utility stitch but i thought ditch quilting the big squares and then utility stitching some of the bands could maybe look nice.

Two of my tee shirt quilts were hand quilted and tied. I had not learned about the fusible interfacing yet so I hand stitched around the logos, etc. I also tied in the negative spaces. It was a "primary grades" type tee shirt quilt so the bright ties added to the design. Another tee shirt quilt (also not interfaced) was SITD around sashings and then hand stitched around logos on the tee shirt parts. I also SITD on an attic windows quilt and tied inside the windows. Also cute. Let your quilt talk to you. And remember: silly is as silly does. Good luck.

Why not - it adds another design element to the quilt!

I recently embroidered some deer blocks for my grandsons. I ended up hand quilting around the main part of the quilt and tied other places. It turned out great and has withstood many hours of cuddling.

If there is a UFO that is crying to be completed, I will use any method available to do so. However, in my case, that usually means that a long-ago hand-quilted (started) quilt will often be finished on my LA just for the sake of getting it done. I have done this to at least 2-3 that I can think of and I don't see anything wrong with it!
