Does anyone have a TinLizzi18 long arm quilting machine and what do you think of its performance? I'm considering buying one but don't know anything about them. I currently have a Janome 1600P set up on a Grace Pinnical frame. I like this but have to roll the quilt real often. Any suggestions you have will help.

I do not have the TinLizzi 18, I have the viking 18x8 and I think they are pretty much the same machine. I have mine on the Imperial frame and love it.

I have a Grace frame under my Lizzie, Love my machine in the beginning had a lot of operater errors, LOL but She got me trained! The company and the bussiness I purchesed her from are both great! have had many long distance calls to both!LOL (I'm on first name bases with both places) When you get a Lizzie you get a CD that even shows you how to fix bobbin tension, take apart tension disk for miner repair. When I had a problem the first time they were all so patient with me and walked me through every thing that could posably be wrong. found out it was me, not the machine, I really felt dumb! LOL the next afternoon the repair man called me to see how I was doing, it was such a suprise! the following week the shop where I purchased my Lizzie called just to check on me. So far it has always ben my problem not Lizzies. I live about 6 1/2 hrs away from the nearest dealer but everytime I called they offered to send a repairman out if we couldnot find the problem. so far so good have not needed to have a repairman make that trip. (I am keeping the spare room ready just incase! LOL If you decide on a Lizzie you will enjoy her.

I have a Tin Lizzie 18LS. I purchased it new, and have had it since April. I've quilted 7 quilts on it and love it. Today I loaded a 48"x64" quilt, and it took me 2.5 hours to load and quilt it. It's off the frame, trimmed and ready for binding! I love my Lizzie!!!

The best way to purchase a Tin Lizzie is to go to a quilting exhibition like Mancuso puts on. They usually have better prices there as the sales are made by the corporate office. It doesn't hurt to try to negotiate a price with them. The thing about going to a large quilt exhibit where vendors are is you can look at and try out the different sewing machines and long-arm machines. You can ask questions there.

I have the Tin Lizzie 18 sit down model. I used to use the Janome 1600 DP on a Handi-Quilter frame. The Janome 1600 series machines are good machines. One thing is the Tin Lizzie 18 can be serviced by the owner etc. with all the videos and information they have. You wouldn't be able to service the circuit board unit for example. The Janome 1600 cannot be serviced by the owner. A consumer is not able to thoroughly clean the Janome 1600 after heavy use. You will love the large harp/neck area on the Tin Lizzie.

I am disabled and I just was not able to use the stand-up long-arm machines on frames. I do love the sit down model.
