Tip for scorch marks

A long time ago I read a thread on the board about using hydrogen peroxide for removing scorch marks made when ironing. I had an opportunity to try it out when I scorched a block of white muslin and it worked beautifully. I just wet the scorched area and left it to dry overnight and now I can't tell which block was scorched.

Good to know. I wonder if it works the same for coloured fabrics? I am thinking it might bleach them?

Hydrogen peroxide is bleach. I suggest you dilute it, and don't leave it on too long. It is very strong chemical and can weaken fabric. It will bleach out color fabrics and might change the color from one thing to another. I bleached a pair of khaki shorts my husband wore fishing and they gut really gross. threw some bleach in the wash water. They turned orange! I kid you not! And be really careful (ask me how I know!!) if using on batik!

I have never had to remove a burn but had to remove marker.

When my husband was in the Navy and if I scorched his white uniform or if they got rust stains, I would douse with pure lemon juice and put in the sun.
