What is the normal size that you use when making a tote bag? The pattern I have says to cut 12" h by 15" w and use 5/8 or 1/2" seams. Is this approximate size that they are? Oh I forgot to mention this would be a bag for school.

the tote pattern I have is 20"H by 16" wide. But I even cut that size down and made purses using the same idea. Marge

I made my mom's totes for groceries smaller, so the clerks can't overload them for her, mine are much bigger with one smaller one for eggs and bread, ONLY LOL
I just adjust the size to fit the need :wink:
