I was looking at Quiltville and saw the trip around the world. I like her technique, but that quilt is a twin, and I need a queen. Does anyone know how to convert it, or know of a different website where I could find a pattern for a bigger one?

Using her proportions:
(4) 4" strips each of 9 different fabrics makes a 72"" wide quilt. each 4" strip will give you another 3-1/2"finished, so figure your completed size. Subtract 72" from the number of inches you need. Divide the new # by 3.5 (finished block size) this will give you the additional number of strips, so add to the original number. Ouch! My brain hurts! |

I did a trip around the world in queen size, but I didn't know enough at the time to do any math. I just started cutting 6" blocks and placing them in the pattern, and quit when I got to the size I needed. I used about 13 different fabrics. It came out fine. I could have made it a few rows wider, I guess.

Hi:
I have the book by Eleanor Burns for TAW quilt I am now making one for a double size. I bought the book at Joanns and used a coupon so it wasn't too expensive. She has the patterns for all different sizes including one for a queen size. Hope it all works out. |
Cassiemae - that sounds the easiest. I have a coupon too. I will write that down and see if I can find that this weekend.
Thanks! :D |
