Looking forward to seeing your pillowcases, I think the best sites to help you are already here. I use the great American Pillow Challenge site the most.

you can also look up Magic Pillowcase or Burrito or Hot Dog Pillowcase directions. They are quite easy to follow. Or you can PM me & I'll send you my directions for the class I taught on making them. You do need to make several to really get the "feel" of how it's done.

Nope, it's not a dumb question. When you take a 42" wide fabric with a length of 27" it looks too big, but folded in half it's just right. I've made a half dozen or so, but they all come out and fit great over regular pillows.

IT LOOKS VERY EASY TO DO. HOPE THE ADVICE GIVEN HELP YOU

Thank you Thank you Thank you for asking. LOL I thought I got this and after I completed my pillow case it was very skinny. I know I did something wrong. I had to call my mother who ALSO explained: When you buy the fabric its on the bolt and folded already. I guess it didn't help that I had purchased pre-measured fabric in a package folded differently. Anyway--- at some point I will try it again.
All you seasoned quilters/sew(ers) are so patient with those of us who are newbies. It is amazing how easy it seems until you go to do it. Then all these words that we may not be use to start flying around, selveged , biase/ and so on and so forth. Thanks to you all. |
