Tuesday Morning Fabric Find -

Sunday a member of my church told me she saw a bunch of fabric, tied in stacks at Tuesday Morning's and thought about me because she knew I quilted and was always on the lookout for new fabric. This morning I wasn't feeling well, but I called my son, who often takes me fabric shopping and asked him if he would check it out for me (there's a Tuesday Morning near him).
He found them and took pictures with his phone and emailed them to me. They were "Fat Quarter-12 Packs" for $7.00 each.
I got 10 packs and they are all beautiful.
Thank God for my friendly church members for always looking out for us senion citizens, , a son who understands Mom's passion for fabric, the techno-geeks who developed the cellphones, digital cameras, email, etc. Days like this, I don't mind so much that I don't drive anymore.

I have also seen Jelly Rolls at Tuesday Morning.

LAQUITA 11-07-2011 06:40 PM

ohh ohh I'll have to visit our TM more often. Thanks for the idea!

I never seem to get to my store before all the good stuff is taken!!

Crafty1 11-07-2011 06:49 PM

Great haul! Tuesday Morning also has quilting notions like rulers, templates, pins, etc...

Sheila_H 11-07-2011 06:56 PM

I've never heard of the store is it all over the US or just specific regions, but big congrats on getting the fat quarters that's definitely a good price and you have a wonderful son to go take pics for you!

lizpatterson1 11-07-2011 07:21 PM

Cool, I have to check them out.

Fabriholic 11-07-2011 07:23 PM

Good to know! Thanks for the heads up.

Have heard of this store, but don't know if they are near me. Will definitely have to check. Sounds like this is a son who knows his Mom. Lucky you.

Great find, we have one Tuesday morning near me, but I always forget about it for fabrics. I'll have to check it out.

I stop by TM every now and then! Have found some great things there and some not so great! Think I will stop in tomorrow and look around. (Like I need more stuff?)

That was so sweet of your son to do for you!
I was in Tuesday Morning in late September, they had a 50 count stack of fat quarters for 37.00. I had them in my hot little hand ready to buy them - but I thought better of it - they were all Christmas themed prints. I would never use them all in 2 lifetimes.

Wonderful find, we have a Tuesday morning here, but the prices are very high.

CAJAMK 11-08-2011 03:25 AM

I always forget about them too! But a few months ago they ran some specials for quilters and the fabrics were great, and they had Fons & Porter items at dirt cheap prices! Needless to say I added to both my stash of fabric and tools!

I have gotten some nifty fat quarter packs at Tuesday Morning, plus the random assortment of quilting notions. It is sort of like a thrift store - hit or miss - sometimes I go and there is nothing quilting/sewing related and sometimes there's some selection.

TM for fabric, I never knew....will definitely check it out. Thanks for the tip.

athomenow 11-08-2011 06:29 AM

Ours never has anything like that. No fabric or notions. Bummer!

unclefreckles 11-08-2011 06:40 AM

Well, I guess that means I will need to go to Tuesday Morning more often!! Thanks for the tip

dphelps 11-08-2011 06:40 AM

I checked out the Tuesday Morning near me for quilting things and they had only two people working, a long line at the register, and a VERY messy store AND nothing for quilting. I was quite disappointed.

traumaRN 11-08-2011 06:42 AM

Thanks ladies!! I'm off today and with one right around the corner will be heading there soon!!

KerryK 11-08-2011 06:52 AM

Good for you! The TM nearest me closed recently :( which made me unhappy! But ... there is another one a little farther away. Guess I'll have to visit it one of these days and see if I can find some good bargains like that!

luvstoquilt 11-08-2011 07:02 AM

Great shopping experience...Now I have got to find a Tuesday Morning!

Maggiemay 11-08-2011 07:14 AM

I've gotten a lot of good deals at Tuesday Morning on quilting related things. Scissors, thread snips, flower head pins, machine needles, templates & different fabrics. Several years ago I got a Ott-type lamp on clearance for under $10- I don't think anyone knew what it was then! My latest bargain was 6 yds of fabric in a kit for $9.99! I wasn't too big on the pattern in the kit, but will sure use the solid Christmas colors. I usually stop in there every 6 weeks or so & check out what they have. They seem to keep it pretty well stocked with fat 1/4 bundles & pre cuts these days.

raptureready 11-08-2011 07:31 AM

Tuesday Morning is an upscale closeout store and if you have something that you're looking for you need to check it out often because their inventory changes quickly. I try to go into ours at least once a month.

jbj137 11-08-2011 07:49 AM

I bought some of these and they were very thin. J J

Lynnejean 11-08-2011 08:00 AM

I will have to check out TM soon! Thanks for the info!

Lucio 11-08-2011 09:35 AM

I went to this sale and found the fabric to be very poor quality and the prints to be fairly ugly. I've been a Tues. Mornings shopper since they first started but find them featuring lesser quality items lately.

JeannieT 11-08-2011 09:40 AM

I have been successful in picking up the 2yd packages that were nice fabric even after washing, and the fabric stayed nice, and had coordinating pieces to go with it but the fat quarters and jelly rolls seemed thin to me, so was too leery to buy those. I'm happy with what I got and I have picked up rulers, etc in there as well for really cheap!

TexasGurl 11-08-2011 09:50 AM

I came across some cute 1 yd prints there recently, also some multi-yd bundles with 3-4 coord prints. They were Cranston/VIP and better quality than those jelly rolls & FQ etc. Cute stuff for kid quilts. Got some Fons & Porter notions at a big discount. They also had that self-sharpening edge ruler & cutter (can't remember the brand) They've had basic sewing machines and even rolling totes before. Ott lights too. Some locations here are better than others. I have 3 that I visit. Never know what you'll find ...
