Have any of you ever seen where the tumbling block is cut into triangles I think I was told to make a quilt?

I was asked today if I'd seen it. Seems someone has tweaked the tumbling lock into 3 triangles. Lady wants to make it caused she found it interesting.

Anyone seen it online anywhere?

It is in a book called not my grandmother's tumbling blocks. There is also a video link where she demonstrates how to do it. I will look for the link

I have the die you are talking about. I have cut some of them for a quilt I will be making for my brother http://www.accuquilt.com/studio-shop...les-jumbo.html

I have done it and regular tumbling blocks. The advantages are NOT having Y seams and making straight vertical lines of half blocks, so putting the whole thing together is simpler, but you have more total seams. If you are new to this sort of geometry, the pieces are a 60* triangle and a 60* diamond. Many rulers will give you the angles you need.

I don't get how it's done!! Fascinating!!

The triangle and diamond on the left are sewn together, then the triangle and diamond on the right are sewn together. You add more triangle/diamonds above and below each one and when you're done, you sew them together right down the middle seam. Can you picture how the triangles and diamonds go together? It's really easy to do.
