Help. I recently purchased a Wall quilt pattern from ebay called Twist and Turn, designed by Mary Jobe Mason. I was sent the directions but not the templates. No where does it tell me what magazine it came from, the page numbers are 25, 43, 44,and 45. The fabric used was a rose/blue/black print, light blue tone on tone, burgundy and white fabric.

Have you tried contacting the seller?
|
That is what I would do also :D:D:D
|
American Patchwork & Quilt mag. had a twist and turn pattern, you may want to see if it is the same and contact them. Good Luck.

Go to How-to-quilt.com they have a free pattern, with templates and instructions.

Tried the seller and she did not have the templates and it would of cost me to return the pattern and I figured that I would cut my loses and try and draw my own templates. Was just hoping to save myself some work. Thanks for your responses.

After much research Ifound that this was from McCalls I think. Have written them - will see what happens.
|
So not only did this seller sell you a pattern ripped out of a magazine, she didn't include the pattern pieces? I hope you left her negative feedback for it since you did try to resolve it.

I have seen a ton of people on ebay selling pages from old quilting magazines...is this legal???
|
I think it's been established here that it's legal. I can't imagine actually doing it though-I just would feel really weird about it. If I tear just one page out of a magazine, I wouldn't even dream of selling the magazine, much less parting it out.

Is this the pattern you are looking for? It's Free! |
Yes, it is legal for them to take pages from magazine and sell them. However, it is not legal for them to make copies of those pages and sell them. There are several doing exactly that. Because of technology, the newer printers do such a great job at copying that only those knowledgeable would know the difference.
