Twisted Pinwheel

Can somebody tell me what the size of the fabric square for the twisted pinwheel must be in relation to the perspex gizmo. I have a 4 inch square gizmo. I know there is a book out on this, but would cost me R200 to order here in South Africa

If you are talking about the "Lil Twister" tool to make pinwheels, your fabric sq. should be 1 1/2 inches bigger than your template. I just finished one and I have the 3 1/2" ruler. So cute when finished. My fabric was cut 5" square.

I do recommend getting the actual tool (if you don't already have it). I had made my own with a 3.5" square ruler, but the problem was it slipped and slided and was awful to try to cut. DH was holding down the ruler while I cut and it still wouldn't hold still. I bought the real one and it has these amazing grippies on the bottom where it holds so amazingly well and I don't know DH to help holding it. Definitely worth the money compared to the frustration with the DIY results :)
