Two colored border?

I'm making a child's quilt with lots of primary colors. Has anyone ever used two colors to do a border (red on the sides and blue on the top and bottom) or would it look too strange? I might mention it is a very busy quilt!

Yes, I have done that... looked really nice... the pattern I used was cobblestones and used bright colours...

Oh, good! The fabric(s) are the same as in the quilt, so I am going to try it!

Thank you so much.

What I did - I had 4 different colors (split rail) and really didn't feel like trying to do the edges exact so I just cut the 2.5 in. strips, sewed them together and then folded them in half and attached the binding. I liked the way it turned out. Didn't worry about it coming out exact, and others really didn't notice it wasn't totally exact.

Well, I kept looking at the fabric I had (red, blue, and two yellows) after I saw some borders in a book, so I cut them all up in different sized strips. I sewed them together randomly and put them on as my borders. They look pretty neat! Guess I'm breaking all the quilting rules, but it's fun!

I have a couple of times used two fabrics for the border. Usually I use one fabric for the top and one side and the other for the bottom and the other side

I just finished a small quilt and each of the four sides was a different color. Looks great.
