I have the Sapphire 875 and I just love it! Also have 3 Singer treadles,2 Berninas,3 Featherweights,a Pfaff... If the electricity goes out I can still sew. I'm prepared. One of the treadles does a zig zag stitch too. When I moved to Texas in 1994 I had one machine, a lovely Bernina 1031; still use it sometimes. A sewing machine is a power tool, that's what I tell my DH. :D

Try going on www.shopgoodwill.com and it just feeds the fire when you look up sewing machines.....it is a feeding frenzy when you see a good one, isn't it?

I agree with julia58, the addiction could be something really bad. I have 4 machines and I could not part with them, I have two main machines and the older ones are my backups. There was a point when I was first married when my one and only machine had to be repaired. Talk about major 'withdrawls' worse than someone in drug rehab. My mother loaned me her machine just to stop my whining and almost crying.

I agree. Once you move beyond having 2, then you're a collector and you can have as many as your heart desires!! Go for it, you might discover a new gem.

Reading all these replies has put my mind at ease. I thought it was a strange affliction I was cursed with, glad to know it's "normal".

No, you are perfectly normal! At least as normal as the rest of us....

Isn't there a saying that "you can't have too many sewing machines"? Oh wait, I think the saying is "you can't be too rich or too thin". But since I can't be rich or thin I'll stick with the "you can't have too many sewing machines"! LOL

I have a Janome , black fw, a white fw. and a 1893 Singer treadle, and I don't use any of them very much cause I'm on this blessed board all the time. Now there is the problem, I think I'm addicted to the board. LOL LOL Wow I just figured out the problem......... :?: :?: :?:
