Please help me make some wise choices! Our Moda rep is coming by tomorrow morning with all the holiday lines.
Here are links to some of the new collections. Would anyone be so kind as to take a look and let me know which collections you think will be the winners? Or which have the most appeal? I really like Elegance by Sentimatl Studio. They are very traditional Christmas colors, but wonderful more comtemporary designs.
Blue is my favorite color and I am finishing a table runner now with dark blue Moda Marbles, a silver batik and a dark blue with silver snowflakes in it. Having said all that, I LOVE the Believe Batiks line! I like Winter Wonderland, especially the piece that looks like a village that goes on and on. That would make a perfect backing fabric. And I love the birds and designs in Nature's Gift. That's my two cents! |
Like the first one a LOT - the fabrics can be used more then just Christmas - the last one is very nice for Christmas - the second one is nice also- I know I should have written notes as I was looking at them :roll: Well you have my top three does that help ? :lol:

I liked Ready, Set, Snow and Believe Batiks the best.

My favorites are the last 3 groups listed. My best fave is the blue batiks. I love all of them....At first I liked the first group of Christmas then as I got down the list I changed my mind. But those batiks are beautiful....love them...

The others were ho hum to me... take or leave em.. and I am a MODA ADDICT.... can't wait to get my hands on some BELIEVE! |
Flurry and Elegance were my fav's. I also love the bird panels!

I would buy every SKU in Elegance, (that's my second all-time favorite Christmas line - second only to "Nativity" ) and I would buy most or all of the ones in Nature's Gift. In order of preference: Elegance Nature's Gift Flurry Ready, Set, Snow Winter Wonderland Believe Batiks |

The first 2 don't appeal to me at all.
The other four are great & I would buy them....especially the Natures Gift and Elegance. |
Wow, love all of them but I really think Ready Set Snow, Elegance and Believe will appeal to a broad range of quilters. Ready Set to those who like a modern look, Elegance to those who like more traditional look, and Believe because it can be used almost year-round and many many quilters love batiks.

*Eliegance *is a definate very classy and tradional.
Batiks mostly the snowflake patterns Flurry a few of the designs The rest are too cutesy for me. |

Seems ot be a lot of differing opinions ont his board, which is good. BUt probably not helping your decision.
I think the trick is to identiy what YOUR customers would like. Think of what colors schemes they tend to buy, are they more traditional or compemporary? Do you sell a lot of batiks? If so, your customers would likely love the xmas batiks. Do you sell a lot of floral traditional fabrics, if so then natures gift and elegance would go over well. Do you sell a lot of contemporary fabrics? If so then ready set snow would go over well. |
Winter wonderland is my favorite for Christmas. I didn't care for Ready, Set , Snow. I also like Elegance and the one with the birds was pretty. I liked the darker batiks, too.

Elegance Nature's Gift Flurry Ready, Set, Snow Winter Wonderland Believe Batiks I would like the batiks if they were in different colours - I'm not a "blue" Christmas person. I really like the Elegance - very traditionally Christmas. |
