Using Elmer's Washable School Glue

I have the clear glue but I can't seem to make a small dots like I have seen on some of the tutorials. Does it matter if you use clear or the white glue? I have seen some of you using a bottle with a cap with a tiny hole but I have looked and can't find them any where. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you!

I got my tiny tips at Joannes in the craft section by the glues. They are ok but clog easily.

I stick a large straight pin in the top of mine while I'm using it, then when finished put the original cap back on.

Look for small empty bottles with long pointed spouts. I got mine at Joann's I think near the paint section. I just squirt the glue into that bottle and use that nozzle. I have the metal tip but it's a pain to clean, so I don't even bother anymore. I just be careful not to squeeze too much out.

I've never seen clear, washable school glue, only the white. Maybe give the white a try?

I've used the clear, the white, and the blue clear washable school glue. All work great. I just open the cap that comes on the bottle of glue only about halfway and then drizzle it on the batting moving very quickly. The glue sort of forms tiny dots on its own this way. After drizzling, I smooth the fabric over the batting with both hands and use a dry iron to set it. I've used the same 6oz bottle of glue for a large baby quilt, two sofa throws, and three table runners. A little goes a long way.

I used the clear and it was a mess. Will stick with the white

You can go to the cite "Purple Daisies", they have the caps that fit the Elmer's glue. I have bought them and they work wonderfully.

I use the white glue. I purchased my tips at Joanns.

I've used the clear, and it may be a bit thinner so you can get the thin lines a bit easier.....but works the same as the white....I just use the tip on the bottle, just opening enough for it to come out when squeezed....if you are basting a quilt and get blobs, don't panic - just smooth them out with your finger.
