Using Plastic Craft Tables with Embroidery Machines
Heads Up on using Plastic Tables with your Embroidery Machines. I have been using a Plastic Table in my sewing room for about 5 months. All my sewing machines are on them. I have been having a terriable time keeping my Janome Embroidery Machine and my Brother Embroidery Machine running properly. My sewing machine mechanic finally discovered that I was using the plastic tables; he put everything together and realized that my problems with my Embroidery Machines was that the plastic tables vibraited when the Embroidering Machine is in use, this was causing the connections inside the machine to loosen over time which would result in mistakes within the embroidered patterns. So I now have sturdy wooden table and sewing cabinets in my sewing room and have never had any re-occurance of the problems. I suggestion (after my expense and time down using plastic tables) to all of you is to use sturdy sewing cabinets and very sturdy wooden tables for you Embroidery Machines.

good advice, i would have never thought about this with a sewing machine

Hmmmm......I think you just solved one of my problems with my Viking. I've been taking out of the well of the sewing table and just setting it on the end of the table. I'll bet that's why my embroideries are not so precise anymore. Thanks, pgsnyder. Good advice for the future.

I know my regular sewing machines dance around on those plastic tables a lot, especially when they aren't sitting near a leg. That is what our sewing group uses, plastic tables. Have found, it does help to have some of that waffle weave non skid stuff under my machine. Absorbs the shock and keeps it from sliding around. And that is a Featherweight.

Thanks for the heads up!!

Very interesting.I do like the idea about the waffle weave under the machine, if you use a plastic table.

thanks for the tip. I also make sure the machine and embroidery attachment are level.
