Using snap hoops for embroidery and quilting

Does anyone use the "Snap Hoops" by Designs in Machine Embroidery for embroidery or using quilting designs? These are suppose to hold the fabric taut and your fabric can be moved without having to rehoop. I would think this would be a wonderful idea for quilting designs. I was thinking about purchasing the ones for my Brother PE700II but wanted to get some feedback...especially about the magnetic frame's strength in holding the fabric sandwich. I know the magnetic frame is not suppose to interfere with any computerized components.

I have the 5x7 for my HV Topaz. I love it. It's very easy hooping the fabric and holds well. The only thing I have
trouble with depending on how big the item I am hooping is...when I attach the hoop to the machine I sometimes
move the top hoop and have to realign it on the material after I attach to the machine.

I used one for my Pfaff Creative Vision, loved it!!! When I traded up for the Creative Sensation, I have been unable to use it. So sad.

Hi

I have the 5x7 and the larger snap hoop for my Babylock Elegante and I love them! I use it for embroidering towels and have used it for quilting on a lap size quilt....nothing larger....yet! When I have something that I know would be hard to hoop or I don't want hoop marks on it I grab my snap hoops.

I usually figure out just where I want my design to go, put the hoop on the machine, and then align the item in the hoop. I don't use it for embroidery applique and I always make sure I have a full bobbin before I start. I don't want to have to remove that hoop from the machine and chance unaligning the project.

I use them often and really find them useful.

Bev
