Hoping there is someone who knows about the "cardtable" type sewing tables that Singer made back in the day.
I bought, from a thrift store, what I hoped was a Featherweight sewing table a while ago. It has the hole for a sewing machine but no hole cover or insert and is marked 148121 SIMANCO USA. It is made of a blonde type wood with tan metal legs and frame for the wood to sit on.
I tried my Featherweight and it was too small for the hole and the metal support for the machine.
Any info would be appreciated. I will try to add a picture ASAP if I can.
Thanks so much for any help

You can google Singer 148121 part, and it should bring up the information. This table may be for a 301 machine, which are a little bigger than FWs but smaller than full size machines.

It will fit a 401, 403, 404 or a short bed 301. I'm not 100% sure if the 500 series machines will fit. I have one and use either my 301 or my 404 in it depending on my mood. They are great for the portability. I won't part with mine.

The featherweight tables usually have black legs and trim around the table top. Usually. Nothing with Singer or Shade Tree refurbishers is carved in stone.

Thanks so much for the info. I have a 301 that I can try to see if it fits!
So far I have used it as my machine quilting table LOL

You say it has no insert, so maybe it was used with a 401 or similar?

Does it have hinge pins for the holes in the 301's cradle?
Or does the machine just sit in the opening?

My grandmother had one of these tables, but I don't remember ever seeing her use it with the 401. Maybe she had earlier had a featherweight or a 301.

You and me too! One of these days we'll find one. I check all tables set up at flea markets for sewing machine card tables in disguise and I am always looking for a 2 legged table folded up in a corner.

There is a metal basket built into the top that the machine sits in. No hinges are used to hold the machine. That is what makes the card tables so versatile. Just drop the machine in and sew.

I have both the 301 and 221 tables; the 221 table had black metal legs and the 301 had the tan legs. Yes, the insert is a different size, appropriate for the 301 (see my avitar).
