Can someone tell me if this is a good walking foot to invest in. Nancy Notion is having a sale on them.
http://www.nancysnotions.com/product...t+low+shank.do never used one before and also am wondering if they aare hard to use. |
Don't know why it wouldn't be okay as long as you make sure your machine is a low shank. They are not hard to use at all. I use mine for quilting and sometimes for sewing slippery fabrics such as satin or silk.

I have a Brother SQ9000 and the walking foot looks exactly like the picture that is depicted on the Nancy Notions web sight. I think it is a wonderful price sense I think they usually run about 30 dollars or so.
|
that's what mine looks like. i have one for my Singer and then one for my Janome. if it doesn't fit or work on your machine , you should be able to return it. ask.
|
Looks just like mine, and that is an excellent sale of feet that she has going on now :D:D:D
|
Looks very similar to mine. They are very easy to use and I rarely use anything else now.
|
Looks good to me. And what a great price.

Just make sure that the shank is suitable for your machine. They are easy to use - best for stitches that only travel forward or sideways (like zigzag) - not so good for backwards motion.
When you attach it, the fork-like looking hook fits over the needle bar. It makes a huge difference in SID and other straight-line quilting. Or in regular sewing when you need to match patterns. |
Hi: I have that walking foot......Came with my Brothers LT3750 machine about two years ago........Use often. Hope I do not have to replace anytime soon. But if I do, I will get another one immediately. I use this for table runners, hot pads, binding on baby quilts. Anytime I have several thickness of fabric............Very useful. I think that is a good price also.

If you call the 800 number to place your order, the ladies at Nancy's Notions will be able to tell you if that walking foot will fit your particular machine.

Thanks everyone for your advice

Looks just like mine except for the the side bar. I think that that piece is for sewing lines the same distance apart. You adjust side piece to the width apart that you want the lines to be and then sew with walking foot using the point on the bar as the guide. Mine does not have that and I wish that it did. The price seams good also. Using the walking foot is just like sewing with a regular foot. It just moves the top material along with the bottom so there is no puckering or slipping of fabric. It can also be used when sewing fleece. binding on blankets or even regular seam sewing if do not want to change foot.
