Wanted: Book Recommendation
 

I'm looking for a book that shows me how to properly cut fabric, attach pieces, read patterns, etc. I guess I'm seeking a quilting bible! Do you have any recommendations? I see many online but not very many reviews.

Quilts Through The Seasons by Elinor Burns is Good. It gives step by step instructions. I got mine from Amazon, very reasonable.

A book that has it all in one place is Quilting for Dummies. I got a copy from my local library before buying one. I still refer back to it from time to time. The Dummies series is great for any activity and anyone.

Farkas ---588 pages of everything a person needs to know to create a quilt! i've been grabbing this book for 10 years- when i need help with doing the math, figuring out how to set a block---what ever i need help to figure out- this is the book i find the answer in. was $24.95 at Joannes, 10 years ago...was originally published in 1988- it is a timeless resource!

These are my two favorite inspiration books. I have made several quilts from them and find the directions great. Material Obsession and Material Obsession 2.

Quilter's Academy Vol. 1, Freshman Year: A Skill-Building Course in Quiltmaking by Harriet Hargrave
This is the first of a series, but it gives you all the basics.

"Quilters Complete Guide" by Fons and Porter is my favorite how to book. It seems to cover anything I have a question about. I have had it for a long time and it has really given me good information. I have "Quilting for Dummies" but don't use it for looking up information.
