I would love to get the EQ6, or even EQ5, but just can't afford the prices. If any one comes across any websites that have it on sale at a good price could you please let me know?

Thanks,
sue

I found it at Amazon for $120.

Most retail operations can't really ADVERTISE it for less than the MSRP price as they've all signed a MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreement with EQ.

I sort of got caught up in whole MAP deal when EQ6 came out and they tried to stop me from selling it on eBay at a lower price. Except I'm a person, not a retail outlet, it was a duplicate gift = my personal property, and it was none of their business at what price I offered it for sale.

Doesn't mean the retail operation (store or online) can't/won't SELL it for less.

Now, if you happen to come across one in a store, make an offer. If there is a small website or shop online that is advertising 5 or 6 at it's original MSRP (which is ridiculous at this date) call and make an offer. The owners might be/should be very happy to get their costs back rather than having it sit around collecting dust with a tag at full price.

Keep checking eBay as it comes up every now and then. And you can put an ISO (In Search Of) post up in the Classifieds on this board stating you're looking to buy either version.

Someone just picked up an EQ5 by doing that the other day. Just make sure to check out and understand the restrictions you might have in buying a used program (especially EQ6).

Good luck.

It's the lowest price I have seen for EQ6. EQ7 is $190. :-(

I know it's still a lot, but check out that Amazon link. I just found a new EQ6 for 109.00 (didn't include shipping) No, they are not cheap, but well worth it if you are going to use it. Some software sits in unopened boxes....:-(

I started to reply with this listing:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Electric-Quilt-5...item335a1d8d76

Here's a new unopened EQ5 for $97. Write to the seller and ask if he'll take $50 or $60 for it (still with free shipping).
What do you have to lose? Tell him it's not really upgradable to EQ7, meaning it would cost less to just buy EQ7 then to buy his version of EQ5 and then pay for the upgrade to EQ7.

And he's got 10 on hand. Did he buy them wholesale, or from a quilt shop that was going out of business? Who knows? Who cares?

He'll either tell you to take a hike or come back with an offer. What do you care? Make sure you still get the free shipping. ;-)

Then I went and looked at EQ6 listings -
http://cgi.ebay.com/Electric-Quilt-6...item20b882a4da
So there's EQ6 for $85 - new copy although I'd ask the seller again that NO activations were used.

If you don't like that price, then write and offer less.

That's all I got. Good luck.

Not that long ago, you could buy EQ7 at a LQS for $113, she had it had 40% off then you could use a coupon to get an additional 2% off. Quite a savings off the $189 price tag.

Thank you so much! You are a GEM! He has had no bids on the EQ6 and I just sent a message offering 50.00. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
