I am not good at using computers but here goes. My daughter is in collage and is hard at work on a 20 page paper, she as me for advise on patterns for a senior project. She has researched the school and city for ideals. Now we still need 4-6 more patterns. We have Best friends(bear paw look) for the main block( this block will be made into a quilt block and placed on campus) because of the 4 different sections. The schools mascot is the bear,4 men founded the school , the school is a religious collage, surrounded by churches, railroads and furniture factories. The number of pieces in this(friendship block) block are how many frats. and soroities there are in school. We also choose "leaving home, crossed roads, a bear, Old country church, school house,a shooting star( she was a teaching fellows and this is their emblem)double friendship star, glory boxes, country roads, and the free trade block.
Now with all that said we feel she needs to add a block with a cross ,maybe a flower or hickory leaf and something with a collage theme. Can anyone help her out with any name of a block that may fit this theme, she said she would welcome any suggestions.

Furniture factories brings to mind a "Carpenters Wheel" block. That's off the top of my head. I'll check my block book and get back to you.

It sounds like your daughter is in NC.... I have 2 grandchildren in religous universities there.

How about a repeating crosses block, or an ABC block.

How many more blocks do you have to find?
