My Granddaughter is studying to be a chiropracter..She has asked me to make a heating bag cape &heating neck piece.Does anyone know if the warm tater bag batting can be used as a batting & is it safe in the microwave. If not what can I use for batting that can be heated?

Is this to be draped on the patient? The ones my chiropractor used felt heavy - like there was sand or something similar inside. Felt so good as it molded to whichever area needed it.

There was a thread on this several days ago. I think Flax or Buckwheat is used in a lot of these. You can also use rice but it stinks and doesn't hold the heat very long.
Just did a quick search in QB and found this link. But if you search there are lots of posts. http://quiltbug.com/articles/microwave-bag.htm |
Sounds like a wheat pack to me. Is a tater bag to keep the potato hot or just to cook it in. I've seen buckwheat mentioned on a couple of sites. DD filled some with rice when they made them for school fete. I have a couple and as Glassquilt said they feel so good.

I think rice/flax seed bags are what she is needing. Batting won't hold the heat and moisture like rice or flax seed will :D:D:D
