I was wondering if insulbrite batting would work just as well as warm tater batting, it's for a bowl potholder that you can microwave. Any thoughts?

I've never used Insulbrite but is it 100% cotton? That's what you need if it's going in the microwave, otherwise it may catch on fire.

I use insulbrite in my micro-bowls.

Insulbrite has the silver stuff in it. Can you safely put that in the microwave?

I understand the you shouldn't put insul-brite in the microwave because it contains some reflective material for the heat to be reflected. I would suggest you use the warm tater batting only if you are putting the item in the microwave.

I have used them in the micro with no problems. It can't reflect if the fabric is covering the silver.

According to the Insul-Bright wrapper, it is not intended for Microwave use. Stick with Warm Tater Batting for anything that is going in the microwave. Use Insul-Bright for hot pads, casserole carriers and oven mitts.

I agree
