I noticed the other day the cutting map I have had for many years is warped. The warp is on the outside so the mat is still usable but I worry that with the warp my cuts may start to get off a little. Is there anything I can go to flatten it or is it time to get a new cutting mat?

Have you tried putting it under something really heavy for a while? I think I did that to flatten out one of mine years ago when I warped one while transporting it in my car to classes I was teaching.
|
I was told to lay it outside in the sun on a hard surface for a few hours and the heat will make it lay flat.

Put it out on a hot sidewalk with something heavy on it to lay it flat and leave it for a day.
bjeriann, we typing at the same time!!LOL. |
Glad to know this! Thanks

I warped my very first mat many years ago on the day i purchased it by leaving it in my hot car standing up. I didn't know any better,.............now i do..,.lol but the way i got mine to lay flat was ironing fabric on it. The heat straigtened it pretty well, but laying it outside is probably a better choice.

Hair dryers work, too. Heat warps them, heat makes them flat again. :D
