I purchased some red and black fabric, also red, white, and black white. I am going to do a basting stich to the end of the fabric to prevent loose threads.
I am also going to use a shout color catcher. Should I put all this fabric in one wash load or do I have to do each separately?
Do I put them into the dryer when done. Or line dry them?

I personally would wash the black and white in a separate load without anything red. the others can be washed together as there is no avoiding the red in either fabric.

How big are the fabric pieces? If more than a fat quarter I wouldn't bother basting the edges. In fact, I don't even baste edges on FQ when I launder them, and I've noticed that when I launder FQ with "yardage" I get much less fray on the FQ.

I also dry mine - completely - but I know others who will only tumble it a bit then apply heavy starch then iron. I starch only immediately before I use it - I don't store starched stash. I also dry compltely to achieve maximum shrinkage prior to quilting rather than after. I don't prewash batting so I know my batting will shrink and that will give me the "used" look that I like.

Keep this in mind though. I am one of the dedicated pre-wash pre-shrink fabric people. You will find just as many dedicated against either of these practices. We are all right for our reasons :)

One of the reasons for prewashing is the bleeding of colors, I would wash them separately. :D:D:D

Why ask for problems, I would wash fabric colors separately.
