LOL. Me too. |
Yeeeeeeehaaaaw!!!
Wow! That is a lot of quilters spending a lot of money. I know that I spend my share but mostly here on the board.
I believe it!
And these truck drivers know exactly how to spend their wait time...I wonder how much stash you can stash in a semi? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...857438962.html |
If I got the right number of zeros, I think that's just over $171 per quilter per year. Somebody check my math! I've spent that already this year I think, or come close.
As Dot said we are doing our part to support the economy. I do shop for a bargain though!!
Soooooo do we, maybe, get a special discount for that? lol
Dream on!!!
That is a great article. Trucking for Quilters! lol
wow!
Could someone please forward that article to Walmart so corporate people know how much money they are missing out on? Thank you.
lol seriously. I work at a super Walmart, well when they schedule me to work, that is. Some of their stuff is ok, but as for the fat quarters they carry, they belong on an ugly fab list. hehe
Someone's spending more money than I am :)

I sure spend more than my share per year, some just on quilt kits and then there the gadgets, then fabric sales, oh the list goes on and on. lol
I'd say that makes us a pretty influential group! Hear that Walmart?
David |
Footnote (remember those?)
I think that figure might include gallery quilt purchases. The whole story is in the newspaper. |
Thanks for checking my math. Here I thought I was being pretty budget conscious. Who is the fairly large group, then that isn't spending that much? Many are spending significantly more.

If I could keep my spending under $200 Per Year that would be news worthy!
I am holding up my end plus a few others! |
If you looked at my stash, it's easy to believe the $3.6B number.
      |
I spend my share. I'm only buying to finish a project.
My math says $171.42 per person. 3600000000 divided by 21000000. That's the average per person so there are many million who spend above that and many million who spend below that. Hard to imagine spending below $200 a year! I spent that last week. :D
I spent more than that on my supplies to practice fmq and first quilt since 1990.(It will be the surf song in the twist and turn bargello book) And that's not counting the money that I spent on the singer 301, nor the bernina that is patiently waiting for me to finish the lay-a-way payments! I think that we should get a tax credit for our patriotic efforts to stimulate the economy!
I'll bet that doesn't even include what we spend with each other. And what about the hotel rooms and restaraunt meals, and gas for retreats and quilt shows. And rental for the places to have quilt shows and guild meetings And postage sending stuff back and forth. Makes me wonder why the economy is in troule. LOL.
Gee I have spent my share and for five others just this week. I do have some scraps left over.
Now if I could win the lottery....hmmmmmmmmmmmm :)
AND the p.o.!!
I'm guilty! I buy a lot quilting supplies and fabrics!
mmmmmmmmm...... that is an impressive number. Wonder if that is 21m world wide.... or only US?
If the stat is only US......per the 2010 census, the US population is 308.4 m..... that makes us 6.8% strong. I know I spend more than my share. ;-) |
Great Googly Moogly! Holy Moly that a lota quilters and money!
