Went toThe new but not so improved Super JoAnns. I only found A few fabrics that I liked but were over $10 a yard. I saw the same thing on line for $3.00. Looks like I'm going on line to buy.

Where online quilt4u? Would you mind posting a link?
Thanks, K x |
ontheqtinc.com They are haveing a close out sale everything is $3.00
|
Wow thanks, just had a look, I could spend a fortune there!

I won't pay $10 a yard for fabric. I'm stocking up on all the fabric I can find for under $5 a yard. Especially fabric for backings.
|
Even with international shipping, these seem to be great buys for me!

BAD!! Bad...bad...bad. My purse is crying. So not good. |
Oh, now you've done it, Quit4u. I couldn't resist taking a peek and ended up ordering yards and yards of delicious fabric. At $3 a yard, who could resist?
I've never ordered from them before. Is their delivery fast? I'm thinking at those prices, my order may come up short. Does that happen often with them? I would hate to be disappointed. |
wow, i guess thats why i shop walmart alot . i have found Joanns to be a bit pricey, unless its in the clarance isle

My Homemaker's Club was teaching a beautiful pocketbook which
required 1 yard of double-sided quilted fabric. Jo-Ann's had a limited selection and I finally "settled" on one - the least offensive of the lot. Then I saw the price - $17.99 per yard!!!!!!!!!!! Are they for real?????? I was using my coupon for a book that I have wanted for a long time. Anyway, I bought a yard of plaid and a yard of navy blue, a wonderful happy fleece remnant, and my book - and it cost less than the yard of that quilted fabric. Then I went home and made my own quilted fabric with the plaid and blue. Jo-Ann's is starting to get on my nerves...... Wheeeeew, I feel so much better now that I vented. Thanks for listening. |

 I'm almost embarrassed to admit how many yards I bought. I started adding things to the cart and just couldn't stop. |
JoAnns isn't all that!
I guess they price their stuff up so when they have the coupon or a sale, they still make lots of money... I think I find better fabric and better weight and quality at a fabric shop when I want to buy a series of fabrics or I buy online. K |
Arizona Sunrise, like you, I couldn't just stop with one fabric and just kept going and going and going. I got my e-mail shipping confirmation the same day! How is that for service? But the automated e-mail did not indicate if my entire order was filled or if they ran short of certain items. I'll find out soon enough because it's coming by priority mail.
I never ever buy any fabric at full price at Joann's. I always wait for their 30 or 40% off sales to buy in bulk or I use a good coupon for one cut of fabric that I really want. Some of their $8 and $9 per yard fabrics are so cheesy and poorly dyed, they are really ripping us off. |
You can order top of the line quilt fabrics for $3.99 a yard here: http://www.marshalldrygoods.com/store/

I took a look at ontheqtinc and I'm not embarrassed to admit that I only bought 15 yards. :D Just one yard of 13 fabrics, larger prints that I need to fill in with the 140 FQs I got on eBay. I got 2 yards of the beige with colorful dragonflies that I really liked.
The Marshall Dry Goods looks really good too. |
Marshall's now has $2.99 a yard fabric!
|
I stopped in my local JoAnn's this last week. They had FQ's on sale and I figured I must need more so off I went. I was seriously shocked at the quality of the fabric. I didn't buy one! I will shop for fabric at several places, including Walmart. Strangely, Walmart's fabric quality and variety has improved while JoAnn's has diminished.
It seems like since JoAnn's started selling the Quilter's cottons @ $8.99 a yard the $5.99 cottons have been declining in quality. That is if you can find any at that price. |

The Marshall Dry Goods looks really good too. I can't even pretend to feel guilty. $3/yd or something else for $8-$10/yd at the LQS. I'll eventually use it. Right? |
I plead guilty. I bought a number of yards at ontheqt.com. She is running out of some fabric and wasn't able to complete my orders. I had wanted to get fabric for backings. But, regardless, I'm happy with my purchase. Everything was as described and great quality.
