What are best brand applique needles?

I've used John James and am wondering about Roxanne or any other brands you all might favor - thanks for any help you can give me.

i've used John James, Roxanne's and Clovers- i like them all-
every project seems to have it's own need- best needle for that job-sometimes it's one-sometimes another-
try what ever ones you can find- and decide what works well for you.
i have some that seem to bend fairly quickly- others not so bad-
but it's not specific to brand-it's more project dependant in my experience

I tried a bunch of different brands, but my favorite for hand applique has been Colonial Super Glide applique needles. Connecting Threads recently had them on clearance so I bought ten packages. Probably a lifetime supply as I haven't ever broken even one. :)

The needle is large enough to open a place for the thread to come through without abrading it, and the eye doesn't shred the thread, but it's slim enough that it's easy to pull through even glued fabric without a struggle. :)

Thank you so much - I was hesitant to try the others in case they weren't as good so you have been a big help!

there are a couple of brands, but the important part to me is that they be platinum... they are completely smooth and move thru fabric effortlessly...

Roxanne and John James are both good. I like the really thin sgtraw needles.

I think I like John James the best right now, although Jeanna Kimball's Foxglove Cottage needles are nice, too. And I just bought some Clover Black Gold - pricey, but nice if you like sharps.

I like John James and Bohin. They are very sharp and don't bend so much. I do use Dritz, but they aren't as sharp and a bit bendy.
