I've seen some great posts here for national quilt shows (Houston, etc.). I know about the one in Paducah, KY in spring -- April, I think. I hear it is always swamped with people. I'd like to know about some other national or regoinsl shows that take place and perhaps think ahead now to pick one to target in 2010. I've been to a few local shows, but not any big ones.

What large regional or national shows do you recommend? What city and what month does it take place? And are there classes or mostly just viewing?

I"ve been to several and so far I like Paducah the best. I'm not limited to one big convention center, the whole town is for quilters. The Quilt Museum is there and Hancock's of Paducah, and Eleanor Burns tent show and sales. It's as much bang for your buck as you can get at a quilt show.

I go to the one in Denver in May. It's the first weekend in May usually. My girlfriend lives in Denver so her and I go together. She doesn't quilt but she does minature doll furniture and she found plenty to buy!

There are always plenty of quilts to look at and tons of shopping.
