Use them as the 4 corners of a D9P? Would have to watch orientation of blocks as you put them together to be sure they end up right side up!

you'll have to provide a visual..lol i can't picture what you talking about..i know what a D9P is..

I would do a regular checkerboard and pick a coordinating fabric to alternate with those.

I like the Disappearing 9 patch idea but I wouldn't want to have to pay attention to the orientations. But of course I'm not the one making the quilt :)

Could Alternate w/9 patch using light shown and one other, so will look like all are framed in a chain :)
Whatever you do those will be cute all put together !!

I saw this today when I was looking for D9P ideas. It is very cute with hearts. I am not sure if I linked it correctly though.

they are pretty - - - can you use them for filler blocks?

pab58 08-24-2010 06:11 PM

Ummmmmmm....send them to me?! Those are so cute!! I'm sure anything you decide to do with them will turn out beautiful!

I would do a wonky log cabin. Since the hearts are offset a little wonky blocks around them would look good.

Perhaps border each of them, then make another block pattern for every other square. Cute blocks, thanks for sharing!

They'd be really cute in valentine's day projects :) Table toppers, bags, lap quilt etc.

Cute applique quilt for a little girl with those scattered.
Use flowers, butterflys, bugs...

nativetexan 08-25-2010 05:13 AM

make two different blocks. star and maybe log cabin as suggested before.

I like your own idea of placing in the center of a star block

That is a great idea. Love it.

watterstide 08-25-2010 02:48 PM

thanks for all the ideas! i went and got half yards of fabric today...purples and pinks.

i am thinking of doing it wonky..i will do an on line search for a free pattern.

this way i can make the blocks as big as i want. 7" is so small! may bring them out to 10 inches. we will see what the first one looks like, then decide on the size.
Thanks again for all the great ideas! Kim

Put a pastel sashing around them, add a 6 inch pastel border and make a baby girl quilt for a gift.

I was just looking at the pictures of the Warm Wishes quilts and I think they'd be cute in that pattern.
