So, my DH and I were having lunch and I said, "I think I have a really good idea for a quilt!" He looked at me with those big brown eyes and said "Really? I'm just wondering how long it will take to actually quilt it once it's made."

Hmmmm....I think he's suggesting I have a problem with finishing projects. I really have NO idea what on earth he is talking about.

the casual quilter 10-09-2011 11:16 AM

Me neither!!! Although I am a better starter than a finisher

auntpiggylpn 10-09-2011 11:17 AM

Sometimes the joy is in the planning and piecing!!! I too tend to let finished projects sit for a while before I get around to quilting them.

MaryStoaks 10-09-2011 11:19 AM

Give him his own needle and thread and let him find out!

GwynR 10-09-2011 11:25 AM

rofl, i get that too. try telling him you are still in the planning stage how to quilt it! it takes a while to plan ya know!!!

gale 10-09-2011 11:50 AM

dh wouldn't dare say that to me. If he did I'd point out the unfinished painting in the dining room, the unfinished ceiling redo in the kitchen, the carpet in the entry that was supposed to be changed to wood a few years ago, the bathroom floor that still doesn't have the trim put on, etc etc and I could go on and on all day. DH has a problem with finishing projects that is much worse than the one I have (and yes, I have the same problem).

I like your profile pic. I like your quilt. I am making a quilt for "Quilts of Valor" Really like your pattern. Where can I get the pattern and what is the name? I have not seen this pattern.

LOL! Tell him you need a long arm. (Unless you already have one.)

alikat110 10-09-2011 01:03 PM

Bad, bad, bad boy!!!!

SuziC 10-09-2011 01:55 PM

My DH KNOWS better than to make that kind of comment. There would be NO hunting trips for him :!:

quilttiludrop 10-09-2011 02:49 PM

It sounds like he pays attention to your projects. That can be a good thing!

Actually hubby is really very supportative of my quilting....cause he knows I won't complain about all of his unfinished projects....

Do you mean to say that men do things like that around the house? Not here. I'm just back downstairs after being called on to fix DH's 1890 recliner after the screws worked out of the reclining adjustments. Not to be retro-sexist but I'd get a lot more sewing done if I wasn't doing fix-its in a very, very old home.

Big trouble - big,big trouble Mr. DH!

maryb119 10-09-2011 05:00 PM

I usually finish mine.....eventually....

MJONW 10-10-2011 03:28 AM

Your comeback should be..." all of my(your) ideas are great ones! And, I know someone with a quilting machine who will quilt it for half a cent / sq. Inch(me)!! Where there is a will there is a way!
Happy quilting!

i usually put them aside to 'think' about the next step, then forget about it. hmmmm

Raggiemom 10-10-2011 03:59 AM

I feel your pain! Mine get finished sooner or later--usually the later :)

catladyquilts 10-10-2011 04:07 AM

mine tells me that all the time and I just laugh and tell him "I'm not sure" and continue with the new idea

rexie 10-10-2011 05:26 AM

If my needles had a remote control attached to them, my DH could put one out in a few hours.
