I have recently acquired a pack of 14 batik fat quarters -- PASSION TEA by Hoffman Fabrics. The most beautiful combination of teals and rusts you've ever seen!! What can I do with them? I have no need for a wall hanging, but if that's all I have enough for, then I'll do it, but I'd like to make some kiind of lap quilt if I can squeeze enough out of those fats. I have a solid brown that blends well with them. Would that take away the beauty from the batiks?

It screams Yellow Brick Road to me as the blocks are of a size that really shows off lovely fabrics.

A solid make make the batiks shine even more :D:D:D
Lay the brown yardage out, place the batiks on top of it and see what you think

Go to www.maryquilts.com and check out the boxed square pattern. She made a 48" by 60" quilt from 20 2 1?2" strips. You could get 2 blocks from each fat quarter. I think the colors would be beautiful in this pattern.

I think a solid brown would make the batiks even more beautiful.

14 fat quarters = 3-1/2 yards. With your brown you should have enough for a nice lap quilt.

Here's one paired with black.
