Is that where sample quilts come in? I found a block that I think is fantastic, but when you see the sample of the finished quilt- I don't like it.
What do you do with them?

Is it something where you can easily rearrange the pattern? I had one where they set the thing on point, which involved cutting up a bunch of blocks to make it square. I de-pointed it and I like the look better. Perhaps sashing between might help. Or make half that block, half a complementary block... can you show us the picture? That might help

Have you tried a different setting or adding another block or changing sashing and borders or other ways changing the quilt pattern? If you love the blocks and hate the quilt, just change the quilt. The hard part is already done! :D What block is it?

Potholders

I'd incorporate them into another scrappy quilt.

If it's totally finished and I hate it, I pass it on. There is always someone who appreciates it. Charity quilts - there are people on the QB who would gladly take it off your hands.

If it isn't finished, try adding an alternate block or a different setting.

You didn't say what you didn't like.

Save the blocks up for the next block swap. Then others can share your beautiful work. :-)

Use it on the back! Either a whole pieced unit or individual blocks along with some yardage would look great! :)

I think she meant a sampler quilt which is made of many different blocks and usually includes sashing. It's meant to showcase the piecing or applique of each block. I enjoy them, especially when there is a unifying color scheme.
