Interesting!

Maybe this will be a limited experiment...only in a few stores. Leases will probably be like the sewing machine dept in JoAnn's...completely separate...can only pay for Joann's stuff in that dept...no Walmart stuff.

I would be happy but i hardly go to JoAnn's anymore.

I've noticed in my local Walmart that an income tax company sets up in Walmart to do taxes, an arcade is in our Walmart, a McDonalds, a beauty salon, vision center, nail salon, why not a mini Joanns? Walmart doesn't really like having the fabric dept but brought it back due to customers wanting it back. If they contract to let JoAnns have a mini store then they wouldn't be selling any fabric or crafts, just let Joanns sell it. I bet it happens. It's too profitable for both stores.

Don't believe it. That rumor, in one form or another, has been going around since the one in 2007 about Walmart buying JoAnn's. It pops up here every so often. http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...s-t193801.html

As much as I dislike JoAnn's, I wouldn't mind if they took over my Walmart. It would save me an 50 minute drive to the next town to go to JoAnn's because our WalMart carries almost NOTHING!

Our Jo Anns had a Husqvarna (sp) store in it, for years, so maybe JoAnn's in Walmart?

It could be just a rumor. Whatever is more profitable will be the result, Joanns or no Joanns.

It would be nice in stores that don't have Joann's I have to drive 45 miles for mine. I have noticed that Walmart's fabric has been really thin lately so it would be an improvement here.

Tomorrow is Senior day at Joann's. 25% of your total purchase is you are 60 or older. Sometimes it pays to be old.

I think I would like it. Our Walmart is 5 mins. away, but JoAnn's is 30 mins. away. Our Walmart still has not brought back the fabric dept., like I thought it was supposed to, so I wouldn't mind if SOMEONE finally did.
