I saw the post about the perfect 1/4 foot. My LQS sold me a blind hem foot which has a spring type lever that you move to whatever measurement you want. You can make it 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch....whatever. I love it!

That is a nifty little item!! I just guess as I go with my quilts but if I want to use a gauge I have a Dritz magnetic gauge that is old as dirt I found in a bunch of vintage machines I bought not long ago. It works but I think I would like your foot better if I was going to use a gauge.

Just beware that this model does not fit all machines.
I just looked them up on Brewersewing parts and most are not like this, but have a plastic foot that come out and sort of like a thumb screw to adjust..very bulky looking! you must know your machine and if it is low shank high shank, slant, snap on, etc... |
that foot looks much better than the lego block i have strapped to my little elna ---hope it fits
