I've never heard of using glue on binding, but it sure sounds like a good idea.

I use Elmer's School Glue if I use glue.

A glue stick from the Dollar Tree. Three in a pkg for $1. I'm lazy. I only do the corners on binding. The rest seems to behave itself.

Elmers school glue. During Walmarts back to school sale the had it for .40 bottle. A bottle lasts longer than glue sticks.

I tried it once with Elmers school glue - get the one with the very small opening on one end - do a very thin strip and then press. It washed out fine, no-show even on dark fabric.
Sharon Schamber (sp) has a video on this if you search this website it will pop up.
