I recently made a purchase of about 9 yards of a 1988 large floral print. Love the colors but not so much the print...its dated.
thought of doing a whack and stack or kaleidescope pattern but would like advice on anything else that would work with a repeat pattern to bring out the colors in a rearranged way! Wondered about strips.
thanks for all you wisdom.

The most charming quilts are some of the old and/or antique ones. Strippy quilts with some pieced strips are pretty.
Have you checked out the quilts on University of Nebraska quilt index. If I go there it is an hour before I realize the time. History quilts of all types.

You could always save it 10 years and then it will be monstrously "in style" because dated will be antique and maybe the pattern will come easier. I recently found some Mario fabric in a box.

I think the stack and whack or one block wonders really make the larger prints or the outdated fabric come back into 'style'. Give it a try, we would love to see what you come up with!

You could do a log cabin, a string quilt, but I think a stack and whack would be beautiful, they always are. You could also do a chinese coin.
