mossy green, black, gold, cream, rust

Go online and look at some of the thread collections. That should give you a good idea of what is considered 'country' or 'primitive'.

If you google "primitive colors" you will find sites that show the colors.

I do mostly country colors. I use burgandys no reds. I use dark blues like navys and dusty blues. No bright colors. No batiks. I use hunter greens mustard yellows blacks and browns. I try to use chocolate browns. I use dark to med purples. You don't want brights or fabrics with large swirls in the pattern. When I use pinks I use prints that are not loud. Cream backgrounds and white or light blue backgrounds. Look at Civil War collections and you can see alot of the colors.

Most of the colors look almost like they have been tea stained, they have a brownish hue to them.

The earthy tones that are not in-your-face but still intense!

I always think of the Thimbleberries fabrics line as country colors and country-looking prints.

i appreceite it this lady that cuts my hair i was wanting to make her a quilt and she liked primative country colors i like thm but i love bright colors that makes you happy i saw one over the weekend and it was light yellow it reminded me of summer and back home with my parents it was a good time thanks everybody for you help dorothy from tenn
