I try to keep width of a child's to 40 inches then I can buy backing width of fabric and length in metres . Hate a seam in the back

I'm just finishing up one today that has come out at 52" x 52" - for me it always depends on the block I'm using, but I think square quilts are great for on a bed or on the floor, and could also be hung on a wall.
