Hi.
I cut all that I had of one fabric and believe that squares will show it off the most. This fabric will be the center of each square with strips around them to make 8" blocks.
I have enough to make 5 rows across, 8 rows down OR 6 rows across, 7 rows down.
I still need sashings and borders but which do you think -which direction should I go?
Don't know what it will be used for -just know I love the fabric and finally got to cutting it.

Are you wanting more square? Or rectangular? I would probably go with the 5x8... but I prefer rectangular. I like to make sure there is plenty of quilt to cover up cold toes. :)

it depends what you want to end up with. if you use 5x8 with borders, it could be a twin quilt. if you use 6x7 with borders, it could be a great lap quilt.

I think if you're doing the quilt for a bed, then the rectangular shape is better (5x8 rows). The 6x7 rows would end up more square.
