I watched a tutorial on using basting spray instead of stitching down the side of the quilt on the longarm when doing a panto. It works really well but Iwas wondering if anyone else uses basting spray and what they use to get the stuff off of you hands. I used WD 40 but really didn't like that.

There is a spray called DK5. It is put out by the makers of 505 basting spray. It removes all sticky residue from basting sprays and other adhesives. It looks oily at first but as it dries, it goes away. It really works well. I found it at my LQS.

Goo gone will remove the residue from your hands.

Warm water and soap. If you're using a water soluble spray, it should work - you might need to scrub for a bit longer than usual, but its always worked for me.

you could always use a salt scrub also I bet. along with warm water and soap. probably a good grease cutting soap like dawn or one of those other ones.

I use a little dish soap and scrubbing and it works for me. I'm interested with your method of quilting. Can you tell us more.

I have acrylic nails and use warm water with a dab of Soft Scrub.

I worked in a factory where we made cushions for furniture, alot of industial glues, would you believe I used hand cream to get the glue off my hands, I also worked in fiberglass lamination and hand lotion worked for that also, so I am sure it would remove this glue from skin too

i just use liquid hand soap and warm water. the spray is water soluble, and washes out when you wash the quilt, it washes off every thing else too. if you let it dry on the floor or anything you may have to do some scrubbing, i try to clean up right away before anything can dry up too much
