what quilt is your dream quilt? I have two that are my ...someday i am gonna make ones, one is a pink and white drunkards path and the other is a green and purple pickle dish :) I need more practise before i attempt them tho.

tkhooper 03-25-2010 08:10 AM

This was the winner of a Quilt Show many years ago and I've never forgotten it. It was a mozaic Phoenix done with 1 inch squares. I would never attempt it even if I could get the pattern. But talk about amazing It is definitely one of my dream quilts. And it was in the yellow, orange, red color palette that I dearly love.

Chasing Hawk 03-25-2010 08:14 AM

The Lakota Star quilt. One day I will make one.

SherriB 03-25-2010 08:16 AM

My dream quilt would be soft pinks, greens and yellows. Not sure of which pattern I would want. Those are my favorite color combos.

Marjpf 03-25-2010 08:16 AM

Double Wedding Ring. Well, now that I think about it I have more, bargello, whole cloth, but the DWR is my "someday" quilt.

I think those colors would be very nice. I also would love a landscape quilt with the various places I have visited.

A Baltimore Album in hand died fabrics.

gollytwo 03-25-2010 08:43 AM

A red and white Burgoyne Surrounded in queen.
I knew I'd never live long enough to make it
My good fortune came when a friend, who knew how I loved it, suggested that my SooNipi guild members make blocks for me when I stepped down after 6 years as president.
I need three more blocks; bringing everything to a weeklong Quilter Retreat this June to finish and assemble the top for quilting.

That's a great dream quilt too.

Right now, it's a Dear Jane, but I'm working on it.

JanetM 03-25-2010 09:41 AM

I have two: a Bargello (possible) and a Baltimore quilt (in my dreams) :D

Bobbinwinder 03-25-2010 09:51 AM

If this is a "one only" question, I'm going with an off white whole cloth hand quilted to the max and lots of trapunto. I still dream about that quilt and I only saw it briefly and that was at least 20 years ago!

Have you seen "The Perfect Moment" quilt? It's a Victorian Lady but the quilting on it is to die for. Really liked that one when I saw it on the internet.

Beth33 03-25-2010 10:02 AM

I would love this double nine patch on my bed! Or even just a wallhanging!

Rebecca VLQ 03-25-2010 10:23 AM

Barbm 03-25-2010 11:12 AM

1) dahlia quilt
2) lone star
3) hawaiian quilt
4) whole cloth

We had a woman come to our guild one time years ago, she did miniature Baltimore Albums, oh they were gorgeous.

I would really love an orange peel quilt. Like the photo below but probably not in orange. white background maybe with different shades of turquoise and blue solids for the peels. I don't have the skills for it, though!

mytwopals 03-25-2010 12:21 PM

A wholecloth wall hanging of my family name, established date and family crest on it. I have the plans for it already in my head. Now I just have to execute the plans.

Rebecca VLQ 03-25-2010 01:11 PM

Ahhhh, and then there's whole cloth....

I want to make a Baltimore Album Quilt and a Double Wedding Ring. Someday I hope.

Bottle Blonde 03-25-2010 07:48 PM

New York Beauty and Mariner's Compass --- Still thinking about the color selection. Would use well saturated color, not pastels.

thequilterslink 03-25-2010 07:52 PM

All these quilts sound so beautiful, we should get brave and try them.

Justok 03-25-2010 09:15 PM

I took a picture of a stained glass window in a church in Spokane, Wa. and I wish I could reproduce it in a quilt, but I don't have the skill or know how to accomplish it. But I can dream about it.

I so want to make a bargello, but the instructions scare me silly. I can follow them thru making the tube, then it confuses me on where to unsew the tube. Would love to take a class.

sandyl 03-26-2010 05:52 AM

Have always wanted to make a quilt resembling adjoining farm fields. Colors of the planted fields with hills, valleys and streams and all the blue sky colors. But I need some atistic flair, unfortunately that escapes me.

An applique quilt of two peacocks facing one another with their tails flowing down surrounded by large appliqued flowers in the same blue colors. I saw this in an Amish store in Bloomfield, IA last fall. Gorgeous, but I haven't found the pattern. Even if I found it, I'm not sure I'm brave enough to tackle it. Maybe just a dream.

tkhooper 03-26-2010 07:53 AM

I so hope you find the pattern. I love peacocks and would love to see it.

We have auctions here twice a year at an auction house nearby, and occasionally one of the peacock quilts turn up, they are gorgeous, they get quite a few amish quilts and tops. I go every time, like a sit down quilt show.

tkhooper 03-26-2010 11:41 AM

Sounds like I know exactly where I'll go if I ever go on vacation.

Double Wedding Ring and whole cloth, hand quilted.

Jeri M 03-27-2010 04:14 AM

I have two - I would love to make a crazy quilt and a Lakota Star. Both for very good friends - who would like me to make them as well - lol
