I am in between projects. As in - I have things to finish - but don't want to ;)

I like making blocks - 12.5 in particular - and love Quilters Cache but overwhelmed when trying to choose blocks to make.

I have decided I will use one specific background fabric and bright colors with it to make different blocks that I like - and one day maybe put them together like a sampler.

What are your favorite blocks? Post pictures or links - I need help!! :)

It might help you to look over the ones that are being used in the Black-White-Bright swap. I think they would meet your requirements.

To help narrow your choice, pick a theme, etc. star blocks, or ones that share a word/name in common. I printed out 12-15 star blocks, went through the list.

My favorite is the log cabin block.

I like alot of blocks at different times.
Right now my 4 favorites are : Blockade, Card Tricks and Jacob's Ladder, Fractured 9-patch
My Blockade was 2 bkgds and where this quilter has solid and scrap in the wraparound part I had one different fabric in each block.
My own quilts of these 4 aren't in my photo file; sorry

Blockade - not mine

My all time favorite block is the disappearing nine patch.

My favorite is Hunter's Star. Log Cabin is a close second.

It depends on what I'm planning to do with the finished project. For swap blocks, I like to use Louisiana "fan blade/flying geese" type block or Air Castle (9 patch star block). Almost any type of star block will get my attention, though.

For a quick quilt I like Warm Wishes, Trip Around the World and Single Irish Chain.
