I think the best way to know what quilt books/patterns to buy is to ask other quilters what they love. My favorite at the moment is Rolling Along. It has patterns for jelly roll strips. What are your favorites? I'm always looking for new books and patterns. I think I may have a problem, ha ha. Too many patterns. No, that's not possible, is it?

Gee, this is a hard one. I love Stacked Posie Supreme, if you really get creative with the fabrics you can create absolutely stunning results. I also love Stack n Whack and One Block Wonders which are pretty much the same. For quick and easy quilts I really like Reversible Quilts Two At A Time.

Quick Star Quilts & Beyond by Jan Krentz will be my next quilt book purchase. I saw a preview of this book and knew I had to have it. The patterns are great.

Bonnie Hunter blogged about this book and I found it at a used bookstore. It's a real treasure. Legacy: The Story of Talula Gilbert Bottoms and Her Quilts by Nancilu Burdick

I buy used books- I like the 80s and early 90s. They are more like patchwork and I just like looking at the time honored favorites. I subscribe to some magazines too, but find they may be keyed to a certain fabric line.

I like to sit in my sewing room and just flip through pages upon pages of patterns. What I thought was difficult last year, may now be in my comfort level.

I have many of El Burns books. She is the best teacher and her patterns are always right. Love her methods.
My first book was Stack The Deck by Karla Alexander. Easy to do like the stack and whack.
Billie Lauder books are great for new methods but not well written.

I can'r narrow down a quilting book right now. Lately I have been doing a lot of embroidery,hand, and applique. I have found a couple of Australian magazines that i love. Currently I am working out of a book called "An Angel Story" by Anni Downs. The other dayIwas able tp purchasr a mag. called "American Homespun". It is full of patterns for embroidery,quilts, and other crafts. I wish we had magazines here in the states like it. I tried to order it but $159.00 is a little much for a year. I'm still searching for more. They just seem to have what I like in their magazines.

I have gotten more use out of my "Quilt in a Day" log cabin pattern book, by Eleanor Burns. But I do love to make several differnt things also. The D9P block is also a favorite. :D :D :D :D

I've gotten some great ideas here. It's always nice to see what others recommend. I love the quilt in a day log cabin book also. My first two quilts were from this book. I've been reading a lot on this board about the disappearing 9 patch. I just got back from buying fabric to make one. I love the scrappy look so this one is perfect. My mind is always two or three quilts ahead of my body. ha ha

i have found so many great , traditional and new, patterns on the internet, free for the downloading, that right now my favorite quilting book is one from my own quilting library that i could sell.
