Keepsake Quilts always have fabric left over and if there is ever any kind of problem they have excellent customer service and always stand behind their products.

I have bought from Keepsake and find their kits excellent.

I have also bought quite a few from Fons & Porter and they are great too. Always plenty of fabric.

The only quilt kit I have ever bought was from Joanns. The design was cute but the fabric was not a very good quality. I would stick with Keepsake, Fons and Porter and Connecting Threads, that way you know the fabric will be high quality.

I have bought quilt kits and have been satisfied with the fabric. One the whole kit came at once, and two others were BOM. Kits save you time and worry in picking fabrics. They can also save you money on fabric purchases. It is true if you make an error you may not have enough fabric. I would never purchase a kit from Ebay. Connecting Threads, Handcock's of Paducah, or Keepsake Quilting are all good sources of kits.

Do you think the price of the kits are very expensive? I keep thinking I could get that fabric (or something similar) for less. Is that just wishful thinking? I can't see spending $99 on a quilt kit and still have to buy the backing.

I love keepsakequilting.com kits better.

I got frustrated with quilt kits from a LQS. They always cut the fabric sooooooo wonky. I figured with the first one that it's a one time error, it happens. 2nd one, same deal. Didn't buy anything again. So I usually skip them, since I alter my patterns anyway :D

I have bought and used several kits from CT. The fabric is great and never short of fabric - usually enough leftover for scraps on a new quilt. I enjoy the quilt kits as sometimes I would never put together the color schemes, and as I buy the clearance kits it gives me a chance to try a quilt I may not have thought of making.
