a Singer 221
and a
Singer 222?

Just won an E-bay bid for a 221.
She arrived on Friday.
She is missing her circle decal &
one wire is frayed, but she looks
good to me.

Her name will be Margaret after my
aunt who gave me my 1st machine.

Will send pics when I have a chance
to clean her up.

221 and 222 are both featherweights, but the 222 has a free arm where the 221 has only the flatbed.

The 222 also has the ability to drop the feed dogs for free motion work, while the 221 requires a feed dog cover. I've heard recently the 222 also has reverse, can anyone confirm that? The 222s are more available in the UK than the USA and can be pretty pricey here.

congrats on your new baby.

I think all 221's have reverse, so it would make sense the 222's do too. I hope you enjoy Margaret as much as I enjoy mine.
