I created this thread with links about the different cuts of fabric, have fun reading to learn all about them

That's not a dumb question, we all have to learn sometime.
jelly rolls are 2 1/2 in strips that are the width of fabric (WOF) or 42 to 44 inches fat quarters are pieces of fabric cut 18" x 22" I believe charms are either a 4" square of a 5" square there are also layer cakes, they are larger squares, but I'm not sure the size, maybe 10"??? and there is another one that is strips like the jelly rolls, I think they are called Honey Buns and are 1 1/2" by WOF. Hope this helps! |
fat quarters are 18 x 22 inches
Jelly rolls are 2.5 x width of fabric honey buns are 1.5 x width of fabric Charms are 5 inch square Layer cakes are 10 inch sqare Turnovers are triangles |
thanks everyone
now i will know what the diffence is you all are very helpful, many many thanks HUGS Dora |
That is not a dumb question at all 2 years ago I couldn't wrap my brain around just what a fat quarter was, now I have more than enough. I like making table runners out of the charm packs. It is all coordinated and I don't have to match anything up. There are nice patterns out there for the precut fabrics.
Everyone here is so helpful. I have learned a lot reading the answers to other peoples questions. |
Not at all a dumb question but I wish I never found out the answers hahahaha
I'm addicted to them :D |
Turnovers are really YUMMY treats made with apples and cherries, and are SOOOOO good............WHOOPS, not those turn overs? LOL!

And if you want to know what to do with all those pre-cut fabrics... here's a link to Moda Bake Shop. Lots of great ideas!
