I need to add more light to my sewing station. Do you have a favorite?

I have Daylight floor lamp, with flexible arm and the tube holder rotates 90 degrees so you can angle it to exactly where you want. It also has a magnifier which is great for hand work if required.

i have the Ott light that clamps to my sewing table..i love it! it is also movable, side to side, up or down. it is pretty big, but not sure of the watts.

I have three Ott Lights and one off=brand full spectrum light in the house. One is always packed up in my quilt bag, one is in the den next to the sofa, one is on the cutting table and one is behind the sewing machine, aimed down at the plate...I can not live without them!

I have an Ott light floor lamp too. They're wonderful - show true colors and easy on the eyes. So nice in fact that I'd like to get the one with the magnifier attached.
I hand quilt and I must make really small stitches now. At least they look smaller & smaller and harder to see every year now. LOL |
Because I am cheap, I went looking at Target for more light. I found, for about $20. a standing lamp with five bulbs. It looks kinda like a Medusa head- all the lights are moveable on coiled cords. So I can put one or two lights on what I am doing, and let the rest of them brighten the room. So far, I'm loving it.

I love my Ott table lamp.

When you own and use nothing but treadles you use candles but I have since upgraded to oil lamps.
In the studio I have plenty of florescent lighting over my cutting and quilting stations and then I have a lamp that hang from the ceiling that lights the area where my wall unit is for my sewing machines. In the house though I just use the light that comes through the sunroom windows. Billy |
I love my Verilux floor lamp- provides lots of natural non-glary light.
