I have a brand new Clover fine white marking pen that will not work. Is there a trick to this?

Is it stuck? or is it dried up? Take it back and get another.

Is this a felt tip type of pen? If so, try dabbing it in a drop of water to see if that gets the ink flowing. Sometimes, though, marking pens dry up in the store before you ever get them home. (Not sure what a white marking pen is like; have only used blue and purple.)

Sometimes it takes a few seconds or more for the line to show up. And then, sometimes you get a bad pen. If it doesn't show up after a minute, take it back to the store and ask for replacement. They're fabulous when they work.

edited to add: I try and store mine flat. That seems to help keep this pen working.

I had the same problem with those pens and stopped buying them and use chalk or soap pens

I personally love my Fons and Porter fine white pencil....

This pen has a metal point. It was stored flat with the cap on tight. I guess I'll take it back. What I am working on is too fine for chalk, which I have, or soap pens which I don't have.

Old, old trick.....use a thin sliver of bath bar soap....I have saved them for years....you know the really thinner the better ones....works super great on dark, can even have a choice of white, pink, blue or green.....

Gosh, I haven't used bar soap in years.

I use soap slivers a lot! Just have to remember to cut on the edge that was next to0 the rule.
